Building sexual intimacy with your partner is important to maintaining a lasting relationship. Regardless of how long you have been together, there are always things you can do to spice up the bedroom.
1. Talk to Each Other About Sex
Communication in all areas of your relationship will enhance your sex life. Talking about sex with your partner is a simple way to make your experience more fulfilling. Some people have a hard time talking about sexual needs even with their loved one.
Set up a specific time to talk- decide a day and time that you can talk about your love life. Give yourself enough time to play out any conversations you have. You might be surprised at how just talking about intimate moments can get you excited.
Use conversation starters- not real sure where to get started when talking about your sexual encounters? Consider getting a book or creating your own questions that will help break the ice.
Go into it with an open mind- most of us scared that our partners will think we are crazy if we tell them what we really turns us on. It is important that both you and your loved one are honest with your feelings. At the same time, keep an open mind to what they have to say.
It is normal to feel anxious when talking about personal matters. While discussing, try to stay relaxed.
2. Increase Your Sexual Desire
How many times do you go have intimate relations when you weren’t in the mood? If you are in a committed relationship, probably more than you will admit. It is so easy to get in a routine and only spend enough time together physically to feel that release.
Building anticipation and feeling excited will do amazing things for your bedroom play. Many individuals need time to feel sexually aroused. It starts before you get into the bedroom. Here are few things you can do to get in the mood.
Burn a scented candle- does the smell of your partner’s perfume or cologne turn you on? If so, look for a candle that is similar in scent. Burn it for an hour or so before you go to bed.
Flirt with your loved one- remember those early days in your relationship where you flirted with each other? Flirting is a great way to get you and your partner in the mood.
Foreplay, foreplay, foreplay- with our busy lives, foreplay can be one of that last things on our minds. How quickly do you engage in sex acts without spending time kissing, pettings, or hugging? Commit to foreplay at least on a weekly basis.
Each of us are different, so some of these ideas may not work for you. You will need to play around and figure out which combination gets you in the mood.
3. Create a Romantic Environment
If you’re a parent, how many times do you instruct your kids to clean up their rooms? Meanwhile, your own room stays a mess. A great way to spice up your intimate moments is to create a romantic environment.
When your room is a mess, it can be hard to unplug from the cares of the day. Start by keeping your space as clean as possible. At least keep your bed made so that it is ready to be gotten in on a moment’s notice.
Decorate the room in such a way that both of you will enjoy it. Install low lighting that will cast a beautiful glow on your skin while you make love. Place battery operated candles or scented candles next to your bedside.
These are just a few things you can do to be more intimate with your loved one. The key is to invest in one another sexually. Take the time to please the other, and you will feel satisfied.
